Mission Statement
The Association of American Universities and Colleges in Switzerland is a group of North American institutions of higher education operating in Switzerland. Some members run study-abroad programs for one or two semesters, others accept local students and award degrees in Switzerland.
The purpose of the Association is primarily to address the many complex issues affecting the establishment and functioning of such programs in Switzerland. These include compliance with legislation concerning immigration, visas, residence permits, internships, and other questions related to hosting third-country nationals in Switzerland, either as students, staff or faculty.
The association retains a legal advisor to provide up-to-date information on legal and political developments in Switzerland, both local and national, and advice on how to manage these changes.
The Association also acts a collective voice for the members and as an interlocutor for the Swiss authorities, at both federal and cantonal level.
